I couldn’t imagine having to give a standardized test to a kindergartener who can hardly hold a pencil. Like you I wonder when we are going to let kids be kids. I think the more pressure we put on kids in the lower grades the faster they will burn out on education. If we let kids be kids and learn at a slower pace to get the basics then the better they will do when they get to the higher grades.
